Description

This was a work and a half. I did it in my free time between commissions, But I found this to be a really fun piece.
I choose her younger form, because her mane is a bitch and a half to draw.
So, I went with the more complicated, but simpler version. I hope you all like her!

One aspect I appreciate is how well you were able to crop Princess Celestia’s hair into the shape that you wanted, especially when it came to that swirl at the end. You made it feel real without having to make strands of hair stick out. Something else I enjoy is how much detail you add, like the muscles in her neck and the shimmer in the necklace and crown. It makes the overall piece feel more authentic. But perhaps my favorite decision made with this piece is having Celestia’s eyes closed. It’s perfect because it’s as if she’s savoring the taste of her treat. She knows that it won’t last, so she’s taking it in as best as she can. You knew that the princess has a thing for candy? One criticism I would like to make is that if this is supposed to be a younger Celestia, then her mane needs to be pinker. I don’t recall it ever being that violet. But other than that, I think this illustration is fine. Not only is it nicely detailed, well lit, and decently colored, but it also shows a side of the Sun princess that we never considered before. Overall, it’s very sweet (pun intended). Keep up the wonderful work, Crecious!
